LTWP

Lukas is an nineteen year-old boy and this is his diary. More on ltwp.org.

I’ve been debating the longevity of this blog for quite a while. But recently I’ve truly been cutting down on my online presence and I love it—I’m less distracted and spend less time online. I do real things more often.

So tumblr comes into question… I’m not sure much anymore what I get out of blogging or what others get out of reading my blog. I think it’s difficult to have a successful “personal blog” with no real focus other than my life and keep a consistent, genuinely interested audience.

I’m certainly not doing it for myself any more. I know what music I like… I can follow tumblrs via RSS… I keep a journal for my own records. So I do it to share, but I’m unsure of where that’s going any more. I suppose I only see it as a method of “meeting” new people and keeping in touch (in a shrapnel sense) with others. But just because I don’t have a tumblr doesn’t mean that can’t happen. It just means it’s less likely people will “find” me.

How important is that to me? And if I have something I really want to share, how else could I do it? I’m becoming more active on reddit but that’s an apples/oranges comparison. Hmmm.

Just something I’m thinking about. (All regarding LTWP, not ILMS or 2718… those are safe for now.)

EDIT: More thoughts on what to do with this blog.

I’m considering ‘personal’ blogs I like most. Just blogs about people’s lives that I enjoy reading. What makes them like that?

They’re often funny, poignant, and very honest. They show real personality. They don’t reblog much.

I’ll figure it out.
